Educational equipment. Artists' paints. Exercise books. Refills for school notebooks. Writing instruments. Drawing instruments. The purpose of this tender is for the supply and delivery of school educational supplies including exercise books, textbooks, arts and craft materials, pencils and pens. Delivery locations will be at various locations within the South West regions and other regions. The authorities listed will be joining this contract: Borough of Poole Council; Bournemouth Borough Council; Bath & North East Somerset Council. Authority - Dorset County Council - 178 schools - estimated spend pa 1 000 000 GBP: Authority - Bournemouth Borough Council - 37 schools - estimated spend pa 140 000 GBP; Authority - Borough of Poole Council - 33 schools - estimated spend pa 240 000 GBP; Authority - Bath & North East Somerset Council - 78 schools - estimated spend pa 600 000 GBP. Total estimated spend for the inital 2 year period is in the region of 4 000 000 GBP. The spend figures are given for guidance only and the Council cannot guarantee that this value of business will be generated during the period of the Framework. As part of the "Dorset Councils Working Together” programme, there is now a joint procurement service operating across all the council in Dorset. As such, this contract will be made available to the following councils if so required. Tenderers should note that there is no guarantee that such access will be required by these councils: Christchurch Borough Council; East Dorset District Council; North Dorset District Council; Purbeck District Council; West Dorset District Council; Weymouth & Portland Borough Council In addition, the Council will grant access to the Framework, by prior agreement, to its public sector authorities which may comprise of other public organisations in the South West region. For such potential authorities please see www.swcouncils.gov.uk. Dorset County Council is a member of the Central Buying Consortium (CBC) which comprises of 17 local authority purchasing and supply organisations across central and southern England. Dorset County Council will allow access via prior agreement to the Framework by CBC members. Please see www.cbconline.org.uk for further information regarding CBC member authorities. This Framework Agreement will commence on 1.9.2011. This Framework shall mean an agreement with Supplier(s), the purpose of which is to establish the terms governing contracts to be awarded during a given period. The Framework shall not be a guarantee of any award of a Call-Off Contract for goods or services. The Framework Agreement will be entered into by the Council and the Supplier(s) for a period of 2 years (24 months) from the official award of Framework with an option to extend for a further 1 year (12 months) further 1 year (12 months). This is subject to satisfactory performance as reviewed on a year by year basis. This is a potential Framework period of up to 4 years.
