Sandwell College (the "College") is developing a new 25,328m² "State of the Art” campus building at West Bromwich to facilitate the rationalisation of three separate campuses to one town centre site. The multi-storey building complex will provide learning facilities comprising teaching rooms, laboratories, workshops, learning centres, performance space, sports hall, catering facilities and administrative offices. The main contractor, Interserve, commenced the main construction works in December 2009; Practical Completion is scheduled for early January 2012.
As part of the post construction fit this contract is to appoint a supplier to successfully deliver the loose furniture and equipment as an integrated part of the process. This will include student and staff tables and chairs, student and staff IT chairs, meeting and board room tables and chairs, under desk pedestal units, plan chests, soft seating, coffee tables, dining tables and chairs, library shelving, metal racking, storage cupboards, coat hooks, pin and white boards, ballet bar and mirrors, roller archive storage, metal storage cage, medical bed, patient hoist, mobile room dividers, fume cupboard, chemical storage cupboards, water coolers, under worktop fridge, under worktop freezer, microwave, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher and other small items of furniture.
There will be an element of design work to review space requirements and update current drawings and layouts. The supplier will also manage the delivery and installation of the furniture. Full details of the scope will be provided in the tender documents.

Any agreement entered into will be governed by English law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. The College is not liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in tendering for this contract opportunity. The College reserves the right to terminate the procurement process (or part of it), to change the basis of the procedures for the procurement process at any time, or to procure the contract by alternative means if it appears that the contract can be more advantageously procured by alternative means. The most economically advantageous or any tender will not automatically be accepted.
Suppliers should note that the contract must be completed by Thursday 16.2.2012, all suppliers must be able to meet this time frame if they wish to be considered for this contract opportunity.
