II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)Glasgow Caledonian University wishes to procure the services of an Occupational Health provider to service the Universities Staff and Students. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the continuing staff and student occupational health needs of the academic schools, support departments and University management are met, whilst ensuring the University remains legally compliant and adheres to medical best practice.
Our objective is to agree a contract of mutual benefit to both the University and the successful bidder. To achieve this, tenders will be invited for an Occupational Health Service for Staff and Students with the inclusion of Employee Assistance Programme Services (EAP) from a single provider, and for an Occupational Health Services excluding EAP, contracting the EAP service separately. We would however expect that in the second scenario the principle Supplier of Occupational Health Services will actively liaise with the EAP provider. The decision will be based on the most suitable and economically viable solution for the University.
The supplier will deliver a cost effective Occupational Health Service which maximises value for money for the University through delivery of a timely, effective, and modern and quality service.
