II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s):NIE's scope for the Cable Jointing Services (up to and including 33kV) throughout Northern Ireland as required.
The contractor will be responsible for:
- The jointing of power cables and associated auxiliary cables on NIE distribution system up to 33kV.
- The minor maintenance to joint bays.
- The provision of all equipment necessary for the work to be carried out in a safe and satisfactory manner. This shall include access / egress to and from joint bays.
- The disposal of all waste from the work site in line with NIE environmental policy and procedures.
- The supply of all NIE approved jointing tools including but not limited to - Gas monitoring equipment, VODCA equipment, CAT's, approved test lamps, voltage measuring instruments and insulation testers.
- All traffic safety and management measures to comply with chapter 8.
- Complying with the recommendations of Health and Safety series booklet HS (G)47. 'Avoiding danger from underground services'.
- Comply with NIE safety rules.
