The Head Teacher says:
We take pride in our learning environment and in being a school where Learning Comes First. A culture of learning is our highest priority and we balance this with two other key values: ‘Aiming for Excellence', focusing on being ambitious for every member of the school; and ‘Respect and Responsibility' which emphasises the way we aim to work together. Teachers and support staff work hard for the young people and we understand that ‘going the extra mile' can make all the difference. New technologies play an increasingly important part in our work, as we seek to prepare youngsters for a fast-changing future.
We are a school that has been developing and improving in recent years, reflected in real improvements to academic results. There is a lot happening here, with a good range of visits and creative and sporting opportunities.
The Schools aims and values:
- to provide learning opportunities for every student's intellectual, personal and social development,
- to enable every student to become an effective learner by developing thinking and learning skills,
- to stimulate students' curiosity through a wide range of experiences within and beyond the school,
- to encourage personal qualities such as initiative, enterprise, independence and the ability to work with and support others,
- to promote self-expression through participation in artistic and creative learning,
- to encourage each individual to aim for their personal best by monitoring, recognising and celebrating a wide range of achievements,
