Further to the recent Public Health provider events, Herefordshire Council are taking the opportunity to conduct some further soft market testing for the Drugs and Alcohol Service.
Information provided will assist the Council in finalising the shape of the service model and approach to the market.

Service Direction:
A reconfigured service whose primary focus lies in early intervention / prevention advice and counselling and not sustained treatment.
A ‘hub' or gateway will be a primary / single point of access, focussed on information and advice.
The desired outcome is to shift resource to the psycho sociological approaches and reduce the reliance on sustained treatment. Progression will be through to primary and secondary treatment.
The lead should, ideally, be able to engage and partner with the local / voluntary sector.
The annual budget available is likely to be in the region of GBP 1 300 000 - GBP 1 700 000.
Please note - The Scheduled Start date is indicative only. The Council will use the results from the soft market testing to refine its approach.
