II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)Design Team Services headed by a Lead Architect in relation to a substantive 600 bed predominately en suite bedroom development, although some town house provision is anticipated, at its Hull Campus (Cottingham Road, Hull, Yorkshire, HU6 7RX). The contract will require the services of a Lead Architect to source, supply and co-ordinate the activities of the following functions:
- Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Consultancy;
- Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy;
- BREEAM Assessor;
- CDMC Co-ordinator;
- FFE / Interior Design.
The role of Cost Consultant and Client Representative will be tendered as a separate direct appointment although closely associated with the successful team.
The Contract for the building work will be let by competitive tender and will be a single stage design and build contract with the possibility of Novation beyond Stage 4 to the appointed contractor or retention as the Employers technical advisors through to Stage 7 to be determined. Site start beginning of 2015 with completion required no later than August 2016.
The estimated cost is between GBP 25 to GBP 27 million Pounds Sterling.
