II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)Expressions of interest are sought for two connected projects to design, build and install new interpretation for Walmer Castle, Kent, and Apsley House, London, in advance of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo (Waterloo 200). The contract will run from May 2014 until March 2015. It is envisaged that the new interpretation at Apsley House will include a small gallery on the Battle of Waterloo, and light touch interpretation (room booklets and panels etc) throughout the house. The interpretation at Walmer is likely to include an interactive, thematic introductory exhibition downstairs and interpretive displays in the historic rooms upstairs, limited external graphics panels (design only) and family activities. The contract value for Walmer Castle will be in the region of GBP 200 000, and for Apsley House in the region of GBP 100 000. Tenders can be for both lots, or for either as a stand alone project.
