General Advocacy Services (including enabling people to develop a range of natural supports including self-advocacy to assist towards social inclusion, Peer Advocacy and family/carer advocacy, as well as independent advocacy services).
Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMCA) to be available to those people detained under the Mental Health Act who request an independent advocate and who meet the nationally recognised criteria.
Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) to be available to those vulnerable individuals who lack mental capacity.
The Council is looking for one Provider, or a consortia of Providers with a lead Provider, to deliver on the three separate areas of advocacy support. It will therefore be a mandatory requirement of the tender that the Provider has the following qualifications:
Independent Advocacy Qualification - certificate level 3 including IMHA module.
Diploma for IMCA (this includes Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards).
