The works/goods/services can be provided only by a particular tenderer for reasons that are:

The Air Commodities Team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence intends to place a contract with Selex Galileo Limited for Consolidated Support Contract covering Repairs, Spares Service and Post Design Services in support of Multiple Air Platform Equipment. It is considered that this contract can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011). This is due to Technical Reasons. The equipments came into service between 1963 and 1979 and have been maintained by Selex Galileo Limited throughout this period. Selex have the knowledge, experience, current repair facilities and tooling to continue the service. Selex has the full provenance for the equipment and the items are already approved for aircraft use by the Civil Aviation Authority. The Authority does not own any of the drawings associated with the equipment. The Authority intends to move forward with this procedure as failure to do so would result in disproportionate technical and safety difficulties which would have an impact on the effectiveness of operations together with a disproportionate impact on time and cost.
