Information about lots
Lot No: 1 Lot title: Oscillating Wave Demonstrator1)Short descriptionThis unit will have a working length of around 5 metres and will allow demonstration of various magnitudes of wave strength. A data acquisition output connection is required providing simple ASCII text files to allow manipulation on spread sheets. Software included as appropriate. Ideally the main container would have clear or glass sides to enable viewing of the actual wave pulses. Additionally sensors for water height and pressure etc. would be desirable.

4)Indication about different date for duration of contract or starting/completion
5)Additional information about lots
Lot No: 2 Lot title: Photo-voltaic demonstration unit for solar cell measurements1)Short descriptionThis unit will artificially, due to being inside and not subjected to the sun, allow an understanding of the principles of solar energy. The unit will come complete with a stable and adequate adjustable light source to enable independent experiments. These experiments must be reproducible. A data acquisition output connection is required providing simple ASCII text files to allow manipulation on spread sheets. Software included as appropriate. It would be ideal if the unit could also be utilised with natural sunlight, if it was chosen to do so later.

4)Indication about different date for duration of contract or starting/completion
5)Additional information about lots
Lot No: 3 Lot title: Kinetic wind to electrical power generator1)Short descriptionThis unit will demonstrate wind power efficiency and be used to determine power coefficients. Operation will be inside a laboratory so will be a self-contained unit. A data acquisition output connection is required providing simple ASCII text files to allow manipulation on spread sheets. Software included as appropriate. It would be ideal if the unit could also be utilised with natural wind, if it was chosen to do so later.

Lot No: 4 Lot title: Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel cell unit1)Short descriptionThis unit will be a self-contained unit demonstrating energy production from a Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell. Measurement capabilities required are current, voltage, pressures and flows, temperature and humidity. A data acquisition output connection is required providing simple ASCII text files to allow manipulation on spread sheets. Software included as appropriate. It would be ideal if the unit could also be utilised with other Proton Exchange Membrane cells fitted i.e. created in-house or by alternative manufacturers.

Lot No: 5 Lot title: Organic waste treatment plant1)Short descriptionA unit to create an understanding of the opportunities for the production of a range of reduced bioenergy sources such as: methane, hydrogen and ethanol, from biodegradable organic material. This includes both waste organics (food, biodegradable municipal, sewage sludge and industrial waste) and purpose grown energy crops. The major route for production of such energy sources is by anaerobic digestion, which can be undertaken in a range of process configurations, and with physical pre-treatment appropriate to the organic feedstock. A data acquisition output connection is required providing simple ASCII text files to allow manipulation on spread sheets.
It would be ideal if the anaerobic digestion unit could operate under semi-continuous/batch conditions and had coupled online monitoring systems for measuring in real time biogas composition (e.g. CH4, H2S, CO2) and environmental variables inside the reactor (e.g., temperature, pH, etc).
