This is a procurement to be made under the Light Touch Regime to provide a range of retail services at Basildon Hospital. It is intended that there will be a mix of food and non-food services open to patients, staff and the public. The contract will be let on a concession or turnover-based lease basis. There is a potential option for bidders to provide funding for the construction of a new main entrance at Basildon Hospital financed through the return figure. This is not mandatory but may be discussed during the process.

The requirement is for a single or a number of operator(s) to manage a range of popular retail food and non-food outlets which will include a staff catering provision located in a new reception area and other designated locations at the Hospital. It is anticipated that the concession length will be 10 years with a mutual break at 5.
