VI.3)Additional informationThe Council would welcome additional indoor and outdoor leisure facilities within the development, subject to the restrictions contained in the Bournemouth Borough Council Act 1985. The Act permits indoor and outdoor facilities for sports and recreations for the benefit of the public at large with ancillary facilities and amenities.
The Council has obtained outline planning consent for a proposed sports and leisure centre to include ice stadium, indoor leisure facilities, catering and ancillary accommodation, floodlit multi use games area and synthetic turf pitch, access and car parking. Kings Park accommodates a number of leisure and sports facilities including football and cricket pitches, cricket pavilion, indoor and outdoor bowling greens, athletic stadium, children's playgrounds and skate park. The park is also the home of AFC Bournemouth.
