This contract is for a baggage trolley vending service at Birmingham Airport, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. This will include the provision of all resources including trolleys, vending equipment, trolley moving equipment and labour. The Airport is seeking to put a contract in place where the service is to be fully self-funded by charging.

The successful contractor will be required to provide a baggage trolley vending service at Birmingham Airport, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. It is forecasted that 10 500 000 passengers will utilise BAL in 2016. The contract will be for a 5 year period, with a 2 year option to extend.

In such an event Birmingham Airport will not be liable for expenses and costs incurred by suppliers in respect of the preparation and submission of expressions of interest, initial tender proposals, subsequent tender proposals, final bids and any other activity related to this procurement exercise.

That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into
