The GMC is currently reviewing the web content management system supporting its Intranet and eight external websites, whilst allowing a multi-user environment of over 450 content contributors.
Our external websites attract 25 000 visitors per day, with visitors spending an average six minutes viewing pages.
Our intranet attracts 1 300 visits per day, with visitors spending an average 15 minutes viewing pages.
We are keen to see what Web Content Management solutions are available in the market. At a high level, we would require the platform to provide the following key features:
Full integration with OpenText Content Server version 10 and above so that assets can be published directly in a secure way
The platform must provide excellent performance in use for users, publishers and approvers when installed on an virtual infrastructure (using VMWare exsi version 5.5 and above)
The platform must be suitable for installation on an Oracle database, preferably on version 12 g and above
To deliver multiple internal and external websites in a secure way
Enable internal users to easily and simply create, upload, edit, restructure and publish new assets and existing assets to the published websites
To provide a flexible and user configurable workflow that allows multi-level approval of content
The platform must allow all current web content types to be used, including but not limited to, HTML, asp.net, HTML5, Flash, pdf, etc
To enable the implementation and correct functioning of all our current accessibility tools
