Fleet management, repair and maintenance services. 1.1.1LCC is seeking proposals for one exclusive contractor to operate Lincoln hire-bike; Lincoln's short term cycle hire scheme based on locations in the city and along commuter routes. Hire-bike has been in operation since August 2013 and it aims to provide low cost access to cycles and to encourage cycling as a viable sustainable travel option. Hire-bike is being used by commuters, business travellers and leisure users to reduce car use and increase active travel. Statistics of use from August 2013 to September 2014 were 1 953 rents (139.5 per month on average) with ongoing growth still evident.
