"The framework agreement will be between NHS Supply Chain and the supplier. Whilst the majority of the products included under this framework agreement will be supplied on a direct basis NHS Supply Chain reserve the right to also provide certain products on a non-direct basis.
NHS Supply Chain will be entitled to purchase the supplies and/or services identified below as non-direct contract products which it will then make available for purchase by.
1) any NHS Trust;
2) any other NHS entity;
3) any government department agency or other statutory body and/or
4) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector.
For the supplies and/or services identified as direct contract products.
1) NHS Supply Chain;
2) any NHS Trust;
3) any other NHS entity;
4) any government department agency or other statutory body and/or
5) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector will be able to enter into a direct contract with the supplier for any of the supplies and/or services under the framework.
For direct contract products the supplier will be required to report to and pay a direct contract management fee to NHS Supply Chain as detailed in the tender documents.

Below is a list of the furniture we intend to cover on the national framework agreement. Please note that this is not a final version as additional specifications may be included:
- Armchair,
- Settee 2 seats,
- Settee 3 seats,
- Tub chair,
- Wardrobe,
- Chest of drawers,
- Dressing table,
- Bedside cabinet,
- Dining table,
- Dining chairs,
- Cupboards.
We reserve the right to supply any of the above listed products on a non-direct basis should this be considered appropriate.
We are seeking information from suppliers interested in the mental health furniture tender which includes but is not limited to the following:
1. Specifications - details of what you feel are the important features which should be included in each of the above specifications .... please consider what you currently supply into the NHS;
2. Key attributes - Details of what you feel are the most important considerations when customers are looking to procure mental health furniture;
3. Market information - details of what you feel the market for mental health furniture in the NHS is worth what is your current market share etc.;
4. Customer information - NHS Supply Chain uses Task Forces of clinicians to assist with the formation of tender questions weightings and desktop evaluations. Please provide details of NHS customers (maximum of 2 per supplier) who you feel may like to assist with this process along with their contact details and positions within the NHS;
5. Any other information you feel is pertinent and may assist with the formation and delivery of a successful mental health national framework agreement for the customer and awarded suppliers.
The framework agreement between NHS Supply Chain and successful suppliers will reserve the right to purchase the same or similar supplies and/or services from suppliers not appointed to the framework agreement at its sole discretion.
The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a procurement that NHS Supply Chain intends to commence during the subsequent 12 months. The invitation to offer will be the subject of a separate notice and it is that notice to which potential suppliers will need to respond at the appropriate time.".
