This service will be provided at nil cost to tenants.
The Right to Buy Agents service is intended to help any eligible public sector tenant (both local authority and housing association) to understand more about the Right to Buy and the responsibilities of home ownership and to assist them with any application they may choose to submit. The Agents will take potential Right to Buy purchasers through, among other things, initial enquiries; budget considerations; signposting to mortgage advice - including to a brokerage service (if needed); signposting to legal advice, the application process and eventually to completion.
Following a market engagement exercise, the Department will invite Suppliers to tender for the opportunity to become a Right to Buy Agent service provider. The final tender documentation will be provided alongside a Contract Notice, which is expected to be published in January/February 2014.
Market engagement will take place in the form of a supplier event, to be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday 8.1.2014.
