II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:The University of Sunderland is seeking an agreement for the provision of Internet provision in their owned, leased and managed residences (approximately 1547 bedrooms across 4 site locations) The solution will need to provide both a wired and wireless provision to bedrooms and to all communal areas within the buildings. Wireless provision to external areas within the property boundary is to be considered as an option. The proposed solution should operate independently of existing University networks and must allow for all normal resident usage demands, including low latency. The service is to be provided throughout the year and be available to all authorised users, to include short term guests. Enhancing customer experience is a key driver for us, so your ability to provide a quality and responsive support service is a high priority. The service should include the option for residents to upgrade their package, to one of a higher speed/specification. An further option is to be provided for guests to pay as they go.
The speed per user should mirror that typically provided in the HE sector (minimum of 20 Mbps per room) and provide the facility for individual users to register a minimum of 5 devices. Some future proofing of speed throughout the term of the agreement, anticipating future growth is required. For installation and commencement by 1.9.2014.
The duration of the contract will be 60 months.
