II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)The University of Manchester is looking to appoint a consultant to deliver 'Building Engineering Services Consultant' services for the development of the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD), that forms part of the University's current Estates Capital Works plan. In summary, MECD comprises the relocation of academic accommodation, for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, from the North Campus to a new site identified on the South Campus. The Works may comprise some or all the following: demolition, enabling works, new build, refurbishment, heritage refurbishment, fit-out, staff relocation and major equipment moves. The contract value of the Works is expected to be approximately 200m plus VAT. The contract is programmed to commence around June 2013 with a completion date around Autumn 2018.
