This service is for the transporting of pupils with varying special needs to and from schools within and outside the Barnsley Borough. Some vehicles require wheelchair accessiblility.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:There are 36 different lots/routes covering various areas within and outside the Barnsley Borough. Contractors can bid for more lots/routes than they have vehicles available. Evaluation of the ITT will determine the maximum number of lots/routes that a supplier has the capacity to undertake. Bidders need to be aware that due to the nature of the service provision changes may be necessary and could include additional lots/routes, variations to lots/routes or removal of lots/routes, however bidders will be notified of any changes as far as is practically possible.
Where there is a requirement for an escort to accompany pupils on a route the Council will provide such staff. The pick up and drop off point of the escort is detailed on each lot/route.
