II.2.1)Total quantity or scopeGreenfields Community Housing (Greenfields) is seeking a principal contractor to provide a comprehensive range of asbestos related services and works. As such, the partner will support the safe management of asbestos containing materials in compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
Asbestos containing materials will be located within Greenfields domestic housing stock, the associated communal and neighbourhood areas and within the related out-building structures. All of which are located across the Braintree District.
Relevant services and works will include asbestos consultancy, direct asbestos management and supervision services on behalf of Greenfields, asbestos surveying, analytical services, asbestos training and asbestos removal works. Providing an out of hour’s emergency incident response service and establishing, managing and updating a new asbestos register database are also key aspects of the contract. Some making good and reinstatement building works will be required, but to a lesser extent when compared to the asbestos works.
The partner will effectively operate on behalf of Greenfields as a key source of expertise and competence for asbestos related services and works. Including all related administration tasks, communications with various stakeholders, notifications to statutory bodies and the provision of technical information.
Contract duration will be 3 years with an option to extend for 2 x 12 months dependent on performance.
