II.2)Quantity or scope of the contract
II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:To supply and deliver 25 tonne bulk loads of 40 micron technical grade sodium bicarbonate for use in pollution abatement equipment on the Trusts two 350 kg/hr clinical waste incinerators at the rate of 1 per calendar month. (Equivalent to a minimum of 300 tonnes per annum).
Deliveries to be made between the hours of 17:00 hrs and 8:00 hrs Monday to Friday, except by special arrangement.
The contractor is to provide additional loads of sodium bicarbonate on request within four working days of receipt of request, the additional loads to be charged at the contract load rate.
Addenbrookes Hospital stores Sodium Bicarbonate in a 28 tonne capacity heated silo. Unloading will be via a pressurised road tanker. Venting of the silo during chemical transfer is provided using a self cleaning filter system.
Acting as the lead contracting authority, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to establish this framework for the Trust and other NHS bodies in the UK including (but not limited to) all NHS Acute Trusts, all NHS Mental Health Trusts, all NHS Foundation Trusts and all Primary Care Trusts (and their statutory successors and organisations created as a result of re-organisation or organisational changes in relation to all these types of bodies). The framework will also be available for all newly formed or merged NHS Trusts.
