The aim of the intended service is to provide Oral Health Promotion programmes to groups and individuals in Brighton and Hove, and also engage in the activities required by the NHS Dental Epidemiology Programme (NHS DEP).
Oral Health Promotion:
This includes:
- Oral health promotion training;
- Promotion for children, older people and specific vulnerable groups including the homeless, substance miss-users and travellers;
- Involvement in campaigns, events and networks.
Epidemiology:
Every Primary Care Trust is required to engage in the activities required by the NHS Dental Epidemiology Programme (NHS DEP). This facilitates the production of standardised, quality assured information about the dental health of population sub-groups, which is required by commissioners when planning services and addressing health inequalities. The Salaried Dental Service has the experience and skills required to undertake the required surveys.
Estimated cost excluding VAT: 285 000 GBP
